Frosty Pumpkins!

I've complained in the past that retail stores start the Christmas rush way too early. They've barely put away the Halloween decorations when up crops Santa.

And I do admit that I've taken some flak about playing Christmas music on this blog, designed to promote next week's "Christmas Is For Kids" Banner Hop (11/5 and 11/6).

Now, I've lived all but 3 of my life's years in the Philadelphia suburbs, and I don't recall it ever snowing before Halloween ... until last night. OMG, Frosty Pumpkins!  Here in Central Bucks County, PA, we got about 5" of snow -- enough to plow, and worse, enough to turn into sheets of ice by the morning. The heavy, wet snow pulled down leaf-covered trees and knocked out power to thousands.

... and made me think of nothing but Christmas less than 2 months away!!

So creative time in the PaperJungle today saw me make this easel card.  I hope you like it, I do!

I used a Meljen Designs Digi-Image for the Holly Fairie;
the .pdf for the sentiment shown is currently free (!!!) on that site.
I used my favorite Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker papers (her Gingerbread
Land line) for the plaid and the gingerbread house, clouds and banner
paper piecing.  Look closely -- and you'll also see that I paper
pieced the Fairie's hat and coat using Nikki Sivils' paper.

I cut the background scalloped label shape using Spellbinders
Nestabilities Labels One, and used Liquid Pearls to trim the fur,
and CTMH Liquid Glass for the holly berries. I also stitched a bit.

You all got hit a little harder than we did here in Lancaster Co. It's crazy, isn't it!

I love seeing the beautiful pics like the one you posted of the snow covered pumpkins but I can understand why y'all dislike the snow so much.
