Celebrating a Life Well Lived

Recently, the mother of my next door neighbor passed away. While her passing was not unexpected and she needed constant care at a frail 92 years old, loss always hurts. But much as we mourn the death, I think it's equally important to celebrate a life well-lived.

That is why I chose to use my favorite bright and beautiful paper ("Chantilly" by Close To My Heart) as the base for this tri-fold shutter card. 

The finished size (flat) is 4 x 7". I will make a custom envelope for this card, using a 

We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch.

Isn't this center sentiment nice for any occasion?  It is also from Close To My Heart and it is called "Scrapbook Sentiments - Poets". I like that the type font is the same as the "Sorry for your loss" sentiments stamp ("4 My Friend", sold separately also by CTMH).  

I embellished the card using CTMH gems, and fussy-cut birds and flowers from the Chantilly cardstock.  

The beautiful ribbon that perfectly matches the Pear CTMH green cardstock is called "Green Goddess" and is Rumple Ribbon by Lovebug Creations. It is part of the "Heaven and Earth" Collection; click HERE to order your own!

For my project today, I altered a Bracket Frame that is available for purchase from your Close To My Heart consultant.

I covered it in CTMH "Chantilly" paper, and made paper flowers using the CTMH/Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  The buttons are Chantilly Complements. The vines and leaves are from a die by Cheery Lynn Designs. And the cute baby? She's my granddaughter, Charlotte, two years ago!  My, how time flies!  And yes, she is just as darling today as she was back then. Oh, those baby blues!!

Thursday is my day to take over the Lovebug Creations Creative Team blog, and this week, we're previewing some of the new delicious colors available in Rumple Ribbons beginning February 24th in the Lovebug Creations Shop.

Here is a charming card that would be appropriate for anyone, from your Mom to your bestie, or a special friend:

 

This card features the new Icy Blue Rumple Ribbon on the lower edge of the card and tied into a bow onto a colonial white card by Close To My Heart. The sentiment, flowers and bird chipboard elements are called My Reflections Chantilly Complements by CTMH (#X7163C), and are shown in the Spring-Summer Idea Book.  They have been applied using foam dots in a variety of thicknesses. The bottom edge of the card has been punched using a Martha Stewart lace punch.

Now remember, if you're looking to stock up on the wonderful new colors of Rumple Ribbon, they're going to be available beginning on February 24. You'll get to see all of the new colors and sets this weekend (Feb 23 - 24) when the terrific gals of the Lovebug Creations Creative Team hop together to celebrate March Holidays, featuring all of the new colors of the Lovebug rainbow.
