Stampaganza Blog Hop!

Tina Sutton,
Scattered Hearts leader
It's my pleasure to be participating in this Stampaganza Blog Hop by the Scattered Hearts Team, hosted by Tina Sutton -- our fearless leader and one of the top Close To My Heart (CTMH) superstars.

You should have arrived here from Heather's blog. If you have jumped here and just discovered our blog hop, feel free to check the participants' list at the starting point at Tina's blog at missgingerdots.com to find the complete list of blog hop participants.

On with the show!

Tina asked hop participants to show current CTMH products and stamp sets, and to offer a reminder that in July, Stampaganza is back!

What's a Stampaganza?  This is where you can buy two of the current CTMH stamp sets and get a third of equal or lesser value FREE!!  That's right -- this includes any stamp set shown in the 2016-2017 Annual Inspirations or the Seasonal Expressions 2 catalogs.

And here is another reminder: those catalogs and all of the paper in them (along with most of the current stamp sets) will retire on July 31, so get them now!

For my project, I made my favorite style of card (yes, again!) -- a pop-up box card -- but this time, I used the current "No Worries" line of CTMH papers with its beachy feel, along with the complementing "No Worries - Cardmaking" stamp set (C1679).  I made it with a retirement in mind, but for no one in particular ... and within a few minutes of showing it off on Facebook, my daughter Emily asked if she could claim it for a retiring nurse who is heading for the beach.

To make it, I used my Pop Up template that you can find on my tutorials site, link here.  The finished card folds flat to 5.5" x 5.5". I cut the base of the card CTMH's using Sapphire cardstock.  I used a center strut to hold the embellishments, which were stamped using Sapphire Exclusive Inks by CTMH.  My favorite detail on the card is the braided twine tied around the box, holding two anchors. I cut the anchors from silver metallic paper, using my Cricut.

(Shhhh... Want to hear a sneak about the upcoming new CTMH Annual Inspirations catalog?  CTMH will now be carrying gold and silver metallic papers, beginning August 1! And guess what?!  There will be a new Cricut cartridge available in both physical and digital models.  I can't wait!! Ooooh, and -- if you're in the market for a new Cricut Explore Air machine -- you'll want to know more about the new Hostess Rewards incentives that CTMH will be offering starting on August 1.  Ask me!)

I make all sorts of Pop-Up Box Cards, and frankly, they are my biggest custom seller.

Last week, I made this wedding Pop-Up Box Card on special order.

The card uses current Ruby cardstock, and retired CTMH paper called "For Always." On the back of the card, I used a current stamp set called "Wedding Wishes" (B1547, $9.95) and send this reminder: you can get this stamp set and all other current stamp sets at B2GO pricing, through July 31.

Also during "Stampaganza," you can also get a fantastic set of 12 month-specific D-sized stamps called "Word Puzzle" for the unbelievable bargain price of just $143.60.

But wait!  Want to save THAT amount too?

You can get the "Word Puzzle Bundle" for FREE (!!!) by either hosting a qualifying party OR enrolling to be a new CTMH Consultant this month, and achieving $300 in sales by August 31.  I'm telling you ... either will be easy-peasy when you see the new CTMH Annual Inspirations catalog. Contact your favorite CTMH Consultant for more information on how to join, or how to host a party either in person or virtually!

I'm sure you'll want to see more inspiration, so hop on over to the next blog stop with Jean McNulty.  And don't forget, shop now during Stampaganza, July 1-31 with your favorite CTMH Consultant. (Most of us will have a "Shop Now" button on the sidebar of our blogs ... look for them!)

Saturday, January 10: Frozen Blog Hop

Welcome to the FROZEN Blog Hop!

Whew! You've made it!!
I am the very last stop on this super-chilly, wonderful blog hop. I hope you've enjoyed your visit and have been inspired to create your own wintery wonderland in your craft room.

So pull up a chair, a wooly blanket, and a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy one more fantastic project.

I signed up for this Hop a long while ago, knowing that by the time January rolled around, our family would have been able to enjoy the Philadelphia presentation of "Disney on Ice: Frozen" to feature in my project. In addition, my granddaughter Charlotte -- a true Frozen fan -- would have celebrated her Frozen-themed fourth birthday party by the time of this Hop.

I decided to make a mat/frame for a Memory photo of the occasion. What's a memory photo?  It's a 12x12" one page layout that I'll get framed. It's for those of us who just aren't scrapbookers enough to do a 2-page layout, but want to make the picture like a layout.  Here it is:

Charlotte was delighted when she saw this! The "snow maiden" cut-out is a file from the Silhouette Online Store, cut with my Silhouette Cameo 2 (a Christmas gift from hubby), using Close To My Heart "Glacier" paper.  The sentiment "Let It Go" is also a SOS/Cameo cut file, and cut from American Crafts silver glitter paper.  I glittered the cuts using Ranger Silver Stickles and CTMH Glitz, a retired product (that I LOVE!)

While I have an opportunity, let me say that the Disney on Ice production of Frozen is beautiful -- fabulous costumes in this story retold on ice. It was an exciting production even for adults, and Charlotte was enthralled, as you can see in these pictures:

Here are just a few shots from the show. We didn't bring cameras (silly us!) just cell phones, so the quality of these pics isn't great. We just wanted to focus on Charlotte's delight, and we weren't disappointed.

We had great front-row seats on the ice!! that my hubby "Pot" bought as a Christmas gift to Charlotte's family.  Thank you so much Pot for making this wonderful memory!

Now official Hop information:

I am the last stop on this Hop. If you've missed any stops, be sure to go back and start at the beginning, which is at the "Connie Can Do" blog of our hostess, Connie.  Do be sure to Hop along and leave comments for each of the participants, so you can be eligible to win prizes from our two sponsors:

"FOR ALWAYS" Blog Hop

If you are visiting here and looking for the LOVEBUG CREATIONS' CREATIVE TEAM'S March Holidays Blog Hop, please CLICK HERE

Good morning, CardMonkey Fans, and welcome to our February Art Philosophy/Artiste Blog Hop!

These two terrific Cricut cartridges are available exclusively through a Close to My Heart consultant. If you don't have a Consultant already, please contact one the Consultants in our hop with any questions you might have

Our theme this month features not only one of these two amazing cartridges but also a brand NEW paper pack from Close to My Heart called "For Always". In this hop, you will see projects featuring one (or both!) of our versatile Cricut cartridges using this paper pack from many talented crafty ladies.  Enjoy our blog hop!

HOPPERS' NOTE: If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create. If you came from Michelle's "My Flights of Fancy" blog, then you are in the right place.

As my followers know, I recently re-upped with a renewed commitment (and time) to dedicate to these beautiful Close to My Heart products and consulting on how to use them to enhance your scrapbooking and cardmaking.

Aren't these CTMH "For Always" papers gorgeous??!  To order your paper pack of "For Always", CLICK HERE.

I used the floral damask (left) and the gentle penmanship (center) to make my card, and I used the Art Philosophy cartridge.  Here is my project:

To make this 5x7" card, I affixed my CTMH papers to a mat of Recollections black and red roses paper. I then ruffled sewed together laterally two pieces of Lovebug Creations' Rumple Ribbon (in Chocolate Dipped Berries color), topping the 1" wide band with some black/white dotted ribbon I had on hand.  I then created my label, cutting two layers using Art Philosophy -- the top in white using the label with flourishes, and the bottom in a solid and slightly larger label. I stamped the sentiment using a CTMH stamp from the Avonlea Workshops on the Go kit.  Then, I again turned to Art Philosophy to cut the rolled roses in small sizes (1", 1.5"). Before removing the cuts from the mat, I tipped the edges of the red paper using a Copic Marker (T10), to coordinate with the Rumple Ribbon. I pop-dotted the label over the ribbon and mounted it to a CTMH Daisy White pre-made card.

Art Philosophy is my go-to Cricut cartridge out of more than 140 cartridges I own. With more than 700 images, it is truly versatile. I have Artiste on order -- and I am sure it will be just as wonderful. Have you considered purchasing either or both of these fabulous cartridges, which are exclusive to CTMH?  At just $99, you get not only the fantastic cartridge, but bundled with it are 3 exclusive stamp sets and a wide selection of dimensional elements to use on your next project. (Scroll down a few posts to see the great stamps that are featured in Artiste.)

If you order your Art Philosophy and/or Artiste cartridge now, you'll be eligible to receive this month's "Home Sweet Home" Stamp of the Month for just an additional $5.00. That's a $17.95 value, for just $5.00.  Look at the sweet projects you can make with this stamp set, shown in the photo above.

HERE IS A LINK to purchase the Cricut/CTMH Collections from my CTMH site. I truly would appreciate your business!

Now, moving on through the hop, your next stop is the fantastic MELISSA at "My Watermelon Moon."

In case you get lost along the way, here is a full blog line-up for this hop, with Active Links:

Thank you again for visiting my blog! :)

March Holiday Blog Hop featuring Rumple Ribbons!

Thank you for visiting my blog! If you are here looking for the Close To My Heart "For Always" Blog Hop, please click HERE.

Welcome to the first blog hop featuring the members of the Lovebug Creations Creative Team!  We're featuring projects celebrating the upcoming March Holidays, and we're showing off some of the newest colors of our favorite Rumple Ribbons.

Now, truth be told, I have a lot of ribbons in my stash ... and I seldom used them on my cards, until I was introduced to Rumple Ribbons. I love the Rumple Ribbons' versatility and exploring new ways to use and enjoy putting the Rumple Ribbons on my cards.  And ooooh-la-la, the new colors?  LUSCIOUS!!

My very favorite color (really, of all time) is GREEN LEAVES!   Could it be that peridot is my birthstone?  Or that I'm Irish (at least a smidge)?  Or that my eyes are kinda this color?  Whatever ... love it!  Here's my project, celebrating March 17th's St. Patrick's Day:

I wove a background of Green Leaves Rumple Ribbons onto my green dotted background, first punching ribbon holes using my Sew Ribbon punch. I alternated the solid Green Leaf, with the green leaf-tipped-white. I cut the word frame "OH HAPPY DAY" using a cut file from Silhouette's Online store, and decided I rather like the pun, changing the Oh to an apostrophe'd O' ... such a punster. I accented the letters and lines between the words using a white gel pen.  I next added the clip-on orange hairbow simply because I liked it and had it from my recent Michael's clearance haul. That bow cost $0.02!!

Now, on to the business of a BLOG HOP!  There's of COURSE luscious candy, provided by our sponsor at Lovebug Creations, manufacturer of Rumple Ribbons. Follow and comment on EVERY Blog Hop blog and you get a chance to win 2 of the newly released Rumple Ribbon collections!  The winner will be announced on Monday morning on the Lovebug Creations blog.

Head on over next to my friend DORCAS who will show you the cutest project!!  In case you get lost along the way, here's the full line-up:

Sketches for Inspiration Blog Hop (by the Krazy Crafting Crew) - February 3, 2013

This month, I am pleased to co-host the Kreative Crafting Crew's monthly blog hop. We're featuring SKETCHES.  My sweet co-host Lissa Marie created a beautiful sketch for those of us who like to do scrapbook layouts; and, I took a turn at creating a sketch for the cardmakers among us.  Participants get to pick one, so hop along to see how each followed the sketch, or took a creative turn.

Here was my card sketch posted for our group to use as inspiration:

I created this sketch using Adobe Illustrator, a part of the Creative Suite. I've been using Illustrator far longer than I've been blogging, and I still only know about 10% of its great capabilities.  I hope to learn more!

Here is my "take" on the sketch:

I used the beautiful new line of papers called "Chantilly" by Close To My Heart, featured in the new Idea Book. The Idea Book was just issued on Friday, February 1, and I'll tell you, the papers have fantastic designs -- a breath of fresh air! -- and they truly cut like butter on your Cricut or Cameo, or even with your paper trimmer. No jaggedy edges!!

The intricate "Asian Butterfly" is a design from Silhouette America's online store. I thought it complemented the sweet paisleys and flowers on the CTMH paper. The sentiment is from Jaded Blossoms. The gems are from CTMH as well.

Are you up for some Blog Candy?

KCC is fortunate to have as its monthly sponsor the Scrapbook Stamp Society. To qualify to win the prize, you must comment on each blog on this hop. You'll earn an extra entry by following their blog at Addicted to Stamps.

My co-host Lissa Marie and I both have blog candy, so be sure to visit both for special prizes. My prize is a $10 CTMH gift certificate for any CTMH item ordered through my consultant site. To be eligible to win my prize, you must:

   1. Follow the CardMonkey blog, and tell me so in your comment.
  2. Comment on this post.
  3.
Leave a way for me to contact you if you're a winner.

Friends-N-Family Blog Hop - November 3

Dear friends and family, some more dear ...

The ones I love most, I wish were living more near.

And the ones who live near who I just don't see as often as I'd like (you know who you are!), know I think of you often and wish you smiles!

Today's Friends-N-Family Blog Hop celebrates family and friendships, by looking at cards and projects we would make for them.

The hop is hosted by one of my most special bloggy friends, Jessi at My Life In Arts and Crafts.  Jessi has more energy than I can even imagine, working several jobs, going to college full-time (and is consistently on the dean's list), and is caring for her Mom.  She also runs an online scrappy store, HERE

For my project, I made a friendship card.  This one is from a card kit from a bloggy-friend, Shanna Vineyard, at Art Made With Heart.

While this card came with all of its pieces cut and all I had to do was follow the instructions, it would also be one that is easy to replicate with my own papers and sentiments.

I hope you've been inspired.
Before you hop along, let me  tell you about some blog candy.

We have our favorite monthly sponsor:
Scrapbook Stamp Society

The ScrapBook Stamp Society will reward one special blog visitor with a prize from their store. To be qualified for the drawing, please comment on all participating blogs.  Please provide your contact information in your comment so they know how to reach you when you win!

You'll qualify for extra entries if you follow the ScrapBook Stamp Society on Facebook and/or commenting on their blog.

OK, now hop-a-long....

Here is your next stop: ZENITA

Thank you for visiting ... see you next month!

Oktoberfest Hop, Day 2

Intro:
Isn't October wonderful with its crisp apples picked fresh from the tree, warm apple cider to warm your tummy on a frosty night; and, leaves of gold, red, brown fluttering to the ground. October is a wonderful time of year and this hop is a celebration of October and all the colors, smells, sights and sounds it has to offer.

Hop along with our Krazy Crafting Crew as they show you their take on October and what it is for them.

For me, it's October that I first notice the crispness in the air of a moonlit night, and hear the distant drums from the local high school's marching band during a homecoming game.  While out walking the dogs at night, I hear hoot owls and yes, even occasionally see a bat (eek!).  Here's the card I made for DAY 2 of this hop:

This is a one-piece owl cut available from the Silhouette Online store. I cut it using my Cameo, and paper pieced it.  I added a complimenting striped paper behind the owl's chest, and also added rust colored paper behind the owl's head and wings.  The letters are from Jillibean Soup, and the sentiment ('you are a') and leaf are chipboard from FarmHouse Papers.  The designer papers are all from FarmHouse as well.

Now, why not continue on through the hop:  If you happened to stumble upon this hop, you can begin hopping at our host blog for this month: Jearise of Lorby's World (http://lorbysworld.blogspot.com) She has a special give away for you on her blog, from our monthly sponsor: the Scrapbook Stamp Society.  Be sure to check there for the prize qualifications and information.

BUT WAIT!  Before you go, I need your help! I am participating in the "Master Crafter Challenge" sponsored by Sarah Hamer Designs (Pink Cricut).  Please jump over to Sarah's blog and vote early and often (now through 10/11) for my banner -- #44 -- so I can be a finalist in the challenge!  Pretty Please??

This shaped card file is available from the Silhouette Online store. I cut it using my Cameo, and paper pieced it.  I added a bit more 3D dimension to the project (e.g., the beak and the elevated flowers for the nose), and colored in the feathers and toenails using my Copic Markers. I used brads for the eyes as well. The paper I used is from FarmHouse Papers.  Drop me a note if you have any questions.

DO stop back here tomorrow when I'll show another owl-related card for the October Hop!
