Happy Rumple Ribbon Thursday, CardMonkey followers!
I've had a wonderful time playing along on the Lovebug Creations Creative Team and getting to sample some of the most beautiful seam binding-style ribbon available today. My very favorite thing about participating in the Creative Team is getting to "visit" and chat with some of the very best crafters in the industry.
Recently, I was stalking visiting the blog of fellow Lovebug CT member Dawn Rene, when I came across a beautiful banner that Dawn made, with just the simple command, CREATE.
Inspired to make such a wistful banner for my Paper Jungle, I made this:
To cut the pennants, I used a Cricut/CTMH exclusive cartridge called Artiste. First, I cut the bases from upcycled cereal boxes, using my Cricut. Then I selected six solid background colors and cut them out too, to cover the cardboard. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the three rosettes for under the letters. I again turned to Artiste to cut the letters. Oh, see that sweet colored paper adhered to the pennants? It's an upcycled 2013 calendar I got at AC Moore's for 25 cents. Each of the pennants is tied together in double bows using a sweet variety of Lovebug Creations "Rumple Ribbons". I used (from left): Sugar Plum, Pink Clouds, Caddy Blue, Princess Party Pink, Sunflower, and Green Leaves.
Thank you again, Dawn Rene, for the inspiration and for your friendship.
