I look around and say, "Whoooo, me?" when it comes to being anywhere ready for any of the holidays, how about you?
In the spirit of "Whooo, me??", I've been crafting a bit and using my Silhouette Cameo to make some owl cards. You'll see more of the owl-themed cards I've made this weekend, when I'm in the October Fest Blog Hop with my Krazy Craftin' Crew buddies. 'Til then, let me tell you a bit about this one:
The Studio cutting file is from Silhouette's OnLine Store. I enlarged it a bit to fill a 5x7" card, matting it on ivory, pretty straight forward. I placed a secondary layer of plaid designer paper underneath, just for a little more pop. I decided I wanted the hoot-owl's eyes to pop more, so I cut the eyeballs out in a white scrap, and colored the pupil crescents with a dark brown Copic marker. I trimmed it up with some jute-like yarn tied in a bow. No sentiment on this one -- I wanted it as a notecard.
What do you think? I like his (her?) funky style ... it makes me smile, so that's a good thing. I hope it does the same for you! Enjoy the waning summer weather!
