#30yearsofhappy - September 23

Your countdown stands at 7 ... that's right, just one more week to get your order in to your Close To My Heart Independent Consultant for 3 or more retail-priced stamp sets to qualify to get the very versatile

#30yearsofhappy stamp set (shown at right, above).

Thirty years!?  What have YOU been doing for the past thirty years, consistently and with remarkable results?  Me, not much!  But for one woman, Jeanette Lynton -- the HEART at the center of Close To My Heart -- thirty years is how long she has been stamping, designing, and building the business that today is one of the nation's leading in the field of scrapbooking and memory keeping.

The #30yearsofhappy is Jeanette's gift to stampers everywhere, to recognize this important milestone in the company. Be sure to get your set today, and try out some of the fun ideas Rebecca, Julia and I have been showing you daily for this whole month.

Today, it's my turn and I say "Gee THANKS!":

There are many things and people for which and whom I am grateful, for I am truly blessed. One of the greatest blessings our family has received this year has been the birth of our grandson, Evan.  I can just imagine him saying "Gee Thanks!" for all of the sweet things he has received. That's the backstory behind this project:

First, I printed out this picture of baby Evan, using my home computer (easy-peasy!), and trimmed it to fit on a standard A2 card that has some embellishment. Then, using Outdoor Denim Pigment ink (for its intensity), I stamped the image with the "Gee Thanks" mini-stamp, clear embossed it and heat set the embossing.

Next, I searched my Cricut Explore's Design Space to find this perfect "Thanks" cut, which I cut from CTMH Outdoor Denim cardstock.  I paused and removed the cut before it trimmed the whole panel behind the word, so I could trim it more accurately to size on the card I was designing. I added two layers of Washi tape (having just one was too see through, IMO) which I cut along the front/back chevrons to make it an arrow.  Voila! A personalized thank you card!
